Thirty Day Challenge Resumes

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

It’s back. The Thirty Day Challenge put on by Ed Dale, Dan Raine and company is returning to the interwebs. The yearly, totally free online event that thousands have participated in and been able to learn how to earn their first $10 online.

Official start is August 1. Getting set up for it, all the preseason information, started at the beginning of July.

Ed , Dan and crew provide daily, weekly lessons and resources. And excellent resources they are too. This is the second year that I’ll be participating but the challenge itself has been a yearly event for the last three years now.

There have actually been more people sign up for this challenge so far than have signed up for all the other Thirty Day Challenges together. We’re talking record numbers here as compared to any online event. Oh and did I mention that it’s all FREE. Not a dime is charged for this exchange of information

The latest in what’s going on with Social Media and bookmarking, how to do proper research to test your niche, even how to find a niche. It’s all covered. Step by step how to test, find and get traffic to your site, how to know if it’s a viable market. Everything that you’d need to be able to get your head around working online.

Some basic SEO techniques to use along the way to gain good rank with the search engines is also covered. All together it’s been life changing for a lot of the alumni that have participated in this event over the years.

If you want to learn more or even to register for this years event, here’s the 2008 Thirty Day Challenge.

Last year had some impressive results with one individual making $10,000 for the challenge. There are many other stories there as well in the forum. Some great friends get made during this event. Last year it was fast and furious and there were some information shared that made internet history.

Like I said before, if you want to get a leg up on the competition or even just get a good head start in running an actual online business, this is the place to start. Get over there now and do the preseason and get yourself prepped for the main event. There’s still plenty of time.

Social Marketing, Baby Boomers and Bold Predictions

February 18, 2008 By: Paul Category: Marketing Musings No Comments →

Have you noticed it? The it being the rise in participation by Baby Boomers in Social Marketing and Social Media sites.
I was looking through all my profiles at the pics there. Not so suddenly I saw a pattern emerging. Actually I noticed it last year, but wanted to see if what I was seeing was right.

Now we all know that the Boomers were responsible and still are responsible for a lot of what is happening media wise, BMW wise in the 80’s, anti aging in the 90’’s and now it seems they are starting to get the hang of the social media, social marketing aspect of making money online.

According to comscore.com there has been a rise in the use of online selling, social marketing to be exact. Sorry I forgot to pull the stats but rest assured it’s happening. Just take a look around and you’ll see it too.

Now being one of the later boomers, I’ll attest to the fact that it is an area that struck me as lucrative in more ways than one.

You see there are boomers out here that never ran the stock markets and got involved in real estate flipping in the 80’s and90’s. There are those that jumped from job to job resulting in little or no security. Let alone a profession. So now they have to look somewhere else for a form of security or even a place where there is no corporate ladder to deal with. Enter the internet.

So internet marketing and the use of social media is an area that strikes close to my heart. Reasons being, firstly no boss, no time clock, the ability to work as much or as little as you like and still be able to make a living.

My prediction is by the end of 2008 we’ll be seeing a massive increase in the amount of baby boomers that are taking advantage of the social marketing aspect of the internet to be able to make a living.

I’ll have more on this one later because there is a real distinct pattern emerging from it all that is going to be exciting to watch. Leave your comments and let me know what your take is on this or whether I’m just imagining things.

Where Does The Free Line End?

January 03, 2008 By: Paul Category: Marketing Musings 1 Comment →

I’ve been wondering lately. Well all the time actually. But for the past few weeks, about the Free Line.
I’ve talked about it with a lot of other marketing people and friends and asked the same question. Where does the free line stop?
How much can be given away and what purpose does it serve? Now some say it builds up reputation and credibility. After all, look at the amazing information that this individual is giving me. ( insert Rich Schefren here and the latest doctrine / manifesto.)
The question remains, for me at least. How much of this FREE information/product gets actually used. Granted it’s only a folder or two right. Yea, well I did a search the other day to grab some PDF files I new were on my hard drive somewhere. I came up with over 500. Looking through the titles most of them I didn’t even remember reading or using for that matter.
Yes I know that’s my fault. The free feeding frenzy. Still, I’m pretty sure I’m not alone. Please tell me I’m not alone.
I don’t remember it instilling more confidence about anyone or increasing their credibility. Some of it to be sure was worth the read/use.
Check your hard drive. How much do you have there that you could do away with and not be at a loss. Let me know.
